It had cost him dearly, but it had been worth it. The dwarf had kept himself hidden, but now finally, someone had stepped forward. Someone with information on the Barrik's whereabouts.
Sir Guy spotted the dwarf and gritted his teeth. This creature would die by his sword.
Bran Wyr spotted the Chevalier approaching and, raising his blade, Sir Guy de Trabuchet issued his challenge.
Bran Wyr, Sir Guy de Trabuchet has challenged you to a duel. Please let me know whether you accept, and I'll begin rolling the dice. |

"Or run and wallow in the dirt as your kind are apt to do! No longer can you hide behind your wall of shot or behind the foul smelling peasents in the employ of your vile faction. The holy ground of the Lady will no longer tolerate your filthy strides, your prescence is an afont to all that the Lady and Bretonnia stand for. My contempt for you is as collosal as your arrogance! Face me without your stinking minions! My honor will allow me nothing less, your humbling or my death is the only possible outcome Dwarf." _________________

Filthy little creature,
Did you run off to buy the assassins quarrel or did you relaize that your little wooden axe was no longer intimidating enough in a real fight? It is shame that one of us is going to come out of this alive, for I would relish the chance to hunble you again and again! Dreadful boring is this life, that at least would generate a small ripple in the pond of boredness...

OOC: Sir Guy is this your first campaign?
I would like to continue our grudge in another campaign. Are you planning on joining any others? |

I'm pretty sure that Sir Guy also goes by the alias El Kapitan. So no, this wouldn't be his first... _________________ They may take our lives, but they'll never stop the WAAAAGH!!!! |

Quite simply, it would screw up continuity a fair bit, since Bran's character also features in A5, which is 15 years in the future. So I thought it was better to just make an exception this once (with a fair bit of encouragement from NewGuy, I might add ).
Still, this should be interpreted as just that; an exception. I warned people up front that this campaign could be very lethal to the characters, and I'll be enforcing that in the future. |

And even if DemonSlayer decided to not allow Bran to live, I had an explaination already prepared.
I was going to say that my character in this Campaign was actually Bran the First, not the second.
And I didnt ask for it, it was all NewGuy's idea.
I was perfectly okay with losing my character.
But this way I can maybe have a rivallry with Sir Guy later in other campaigns. That would be cool. |

Heh heh.
Yes, but when Bran asked me about what would happen to his character should he lose a challenge, I had responded that fluffwise we'd allow him to be almost-mostly-dead, instead of all-dead, simply so badly wounded that he would need to create a new character. I should have confirmed this with DS at the time.
When it later came out that no, Bran would in fact be dead dead and there would be nothing to do but search his pockets for loose change, I felt a need to cover my- ahem, my error and asked DS to make an exception. Again, I should have better clarified what I thought this would be. My bad, guys, my bad. _________________ They may take our lives, but they'll never stop the WAAAAGH!!!! |
